Visual Storyteller

Poet of Images and Words

My projects start with three questions:

What are our stories? What makes us human? What is our shared experience and vision?

Book cover titled 'Song of Cellulo' by Roger Anderson, depicting a fisherman with a net standing on a dock, casting toward a river with large fish swimming among swirling water, mountains, and a sunset sky in the background.

    Design

Poster advertising CPAASV rental space featuring images of an event hall, rehearsal rooms, a dance performance, and a stage with a red curtain. The poster includes contact information and details about the facilities.
Text saying 'Breaking with Boundaries' with an arrow pointing to the word 'ART' in a handwritten style.

Design work for non-profits for flyers, logo, websites, book covers, baners, and cards. Tools used were Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate.

Colorful modern artwork with abstract shapes and text that reads 'I am here to create a life where I do not need to escape.'
A gratitude card featuring a white illustration of three people with a graduation cap and background of white and yellow stars. The text says, "With all our hearts thank you! From Elevate Tutoring."
Entrance of Dr. James Akiyama Wellness Center with purple flowers in the foreground and a banner promoting a smoke-free Japan.
Logo for A's Fire & Safety Inc. with a fire icon and yellow and red color scheme.
A woman smiling outdoors, holding a colorful abstract painting in front of blooming pink and red flowers.

          Art

A colorful drawing of two people, one appears to be lying down with a red and purple shirt, and the other sitting beside them. There is a mixture of lines and colors including red, purple, black, blue, and brown, with some abstract background elements.

It all begins with an observation, a human response.

A story to tell. Here we have Mother and Son resting on a worn-out brown couch. A drawing of my cousin and her 7-month year old resting from a weary day of meeting people.

A gallery wall displaying various colorful artworks, including a framed painting of a blue cat curled around a bird on a yellow background, a pink artwork with lanterns and flowers, and several other framed pieces.

Commissions

Water Color Painting of Pets

Painting of a pug dog with its tongue out, sitting on a reddish floor with a background of blue and yellow colors.
Painting of a fluffy white dog with dark eyes and tongue sticking out, decorated with red, white, and blue patriotic patterns, and stars in the background.
A black and white line drawing of a woman with flowing hair, wearing an ornate dress with patterns, and a smaller figure of a woman with braids at the bottom.
Abstract watercolor artwork featuring various shapes, lines, and doodles in colors like blue, yellow, green, and orange, with some elements resembling parts of a face and other organic forms.
A surreal artwork combining human and artistic elements, featuring a profile of a person's face integrated with a colorful, abstract internal structure resembling organs and a large curved feather.
Ink and Gouache Illustrations The commission of my sketch began with a few lines that became a piece involving shapes and text. The color was requested upon purchase and the piece showed promise in its quirky resilient message.

Watercolor and Ink are the mediums where I create pieces on colorful resilience, meditation, and movement. An expressive usage of paper and pen allows the subconscious to come into physical existence.
