A Piece of New Beginnings- No Matter How Small

Sabrina Kwong, “Meet Me”, 2024, Mixed Media,

Printed onto Canvas with the usage of Eye Shadow,

$80, and 8”x10”

Meet Me” plays on the sounds of "Milk Tea," blending Eastern and Western influences, sweetness and bitterness, and the early stages of an idea with the moment of decision. Are we at our most present when sharing a cup of a cold or warm beverage with someone else? Could this cup of nourishment lead us to a new place—whether physical or within our minds? The use of print on canvas symbolizes how memories are etched onto our minds, where both nothing and everything can exist. Meanwhile, the use of eye shadow speaks to how we see the world, as well as the traces we leave behind, like colorful dust.
